Hello, I'm Patrick Brown. I am passionate about making public policy making and implementation more data driven.
This brings together key interests, including how to make government and communities (esp cities) work better for people.
I did the General Assembly data science bootcamp part time, and was hooked. Now I supplement my learning using open source tools and MOOCs.

I also write about learning to do data science from the perspective of someone trying to break into the sector. I bring a lot of relevant skills including curiosity, skepticism, coding in R and Python, statistics, research design and domain knowledge in public policy. Most importantly, I know how to use actionable insights to change minds and behaviours, leveraging my skills in advocacy. You can check out some things I've done on my projects pages.
